JAMB Registrar, Prof Is’haq Oloyede, has ordered the immediate relocation of the examination body’s Zonal office from Calabar to Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.

The relocation it was learnt, was prompted by the absence of support from the Cross Rivers State government to protect its officials from the danger they were exposed to in the state.

Recently Prof Is’haq Oloyede, was in Calabar to attend the West African Examination Council’s (WAEC) 56th Annual General Meeting and he was shocked at the state he found JAMB's Calabar office to be in. The said zonal office in Calabar  shares an adjacent building with the Cross River Transport Regulatory Agency (CTRA) and the official space of JAMB has been unfortunately overtaken by heap of impounded vehicles.
The usage of CTRA to park impounded vehicles may have irked the Registrar as there was no more space for JAMB workers and others including students and parents to have access to the offices

Armed operatives from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) as well as officials of JAMB said the office was no longer conducive for administrative operations because of the activities of hoodlums and state agency called Cross River Transport Regulatory Agency (CTRA).
